Do you mic your drums? Don't let the mic cords touch the drums as they hang. This will interfere with any open tone you're trying to achieve. Also, don't let the sound crew attach mic clips to your rims. Ask them to attach them to the isolation mounts. Otherwise it defeats the purpose of having isolation mounts.
